Descendants of Samuel Thiele born 1781 Harthe, Kries Zullichau-Schwiebus, Prussia and Anna Rosina Schulz born Posen, Prussia. Samuel and Anna migrated to South Australia in 1838 aboard the ship Prince George with the group of Lutheran refugees who migrated with Captain Hahn and Pastor Kavel. Their 4 sons came with them. One son was already married prior to migration, the other three were not.

- Mum of two and grandmother of eight, I have been researching my own family history for over 40 years. Other family members have asked me for help with their research and naturally I have oblidged. It is the thrill of the chase that keeps me going in my genie research. Nothing is more satisfying than finding a missing link. Except perhaps completing something that I have been creating. I'm also into things creative - I knit, I crochet and I sew.. and now I'm learning to spin as well. With all these grandkids, I spend time amusing them or sewing for them and making them toys and teddy bears as well. Their smiles and squeals of delight make it all worth while. I am directly related to Johan Gottlob THIELE through my mother who is now 91 years of age. I can confirm that he was born 16th April 1843 at Klemzig S Australia and married Johanne Caroline PAECH at St Michael's Hahndorf, S Australia 29 June 1865 and died 17Apr 1926. Both are buried in West Terrace Cemetery, Adelaide, S Australia.
If you have any further information on this line I would be most apprecative.

I am directly related to Johann Wilhelm Thiele, born at Harthe in Prussia in 1819 and in particular his son Johann Friedrich born in 1850. I note that you say Johann Friedrich had 13 children. All the information that I have been able to uncover suggests they had twelve children. Do you have any information on their children's names?

Eleonore and Carl are my greatx3 g parents there was more than 4 children
Carl's last name was Schuetz also, orginally it was Schutz with teh hyphen above the U but was changed when his family (when he was a child came to SA) he was also known as Ausguts on some records, his marriage to ELeonore was his 2nd marriage witha 3rd to folloow after her death.

Hi Jules, I'm hoping you can help me and my family "Thiele".
Around 15 years ago, we put an ad in the Adelaide Sunday Mail as we wanted to trace our family tree.
We received numerous letters and one in particular from a woman, whom we can't exactly remember her name. I recall she lived around the Glenelg area or down south.
A conversation was held over the phone between her and my Father. Basically, she mentioned she was putting together a family tree and was keen to borrow an old 'family tree book' we had, which my father Willi Thiele was given from his aunty (now deceased) in Germany.
The photocopied bound book was printed in German and it had all the vital information needed for our family history. No copy was ever made and my father deeply regrets sending it to her to borrow, in which she said she would return. We don't know if the woman passed away or if she intended never to return the book or perhaps passed it on to her kids.
Now my siblings and I, all in our 20's and 30's, are keen to trace our family tree and put all the pieces together of our German heritage, we are missing that piece of the puzzle. The book that contains all the vital information.
Do you have any information as to how I could somehow track down this book?
